for every girl whose boyfriend who has ever asked “what does mascara even do?”
I guess the real question is, “Why does society deem it necessary?” Is looking “good” worth all that trouble?
I think I’m just glad that in our culture most of the stuff that is deemed “necessary” isn’t really necessary. Women in America don’t have to shave their legs, sure it’s like considered attractive and feminine, but it’s not really enforced. In some cultures long stretched out necks or giant gauged bottom lip holes or full body scarring or tattoos are attractive and those are not an option.
If all I have to do is put black gunk on my face to feel all pretty, I’m super ok with that
